Chamber music in Sidney Sussex Chapel, 2006

Courses are directed by The Parley of Instruments (Baroque music), and by Philip Thorby and Friends (Renaissance music). We keep the courses small so that everyone can get to know everyone else, and to create a friendly, supportive and uncompetitive atmosphere in which everyone (even the tutors!) can learn.

The courses are held in Sidney Sussex College, right in the centre of historic Cambridge, with easy access to music- and book-shops and to museums and churches where we hold our concerts; but within the college walls you will find yourself in another world, in which the 21st century plays little part.

In addition to technical and stylistic teaching, the emphasis is on discovering how to make the music sing, by finding out what lies behind the dots on the page.
