Jeune Orchestre Atlantique http://education.earlymusicguide.com/joajoa@abbayeauxdames.org

Concert, Abbaye aux Dames (Saintes, France)

For ten years, the Abbaye aux Dames has been offering young musicians the opportunity to interpret the Classical and Romantic repertoire on period instruments through a unique training programme called JOA. Under the artistic coordination of Philippe Herreweghe, these courses allow the in-depth exploration of a vaste repertoire in various configurations: symphonic, chamber, orchestral chamber, and operatic, as well as intensive sectional classes for each instrument.
This course of studies is unique in many ways. The cultural diversity of the students and the coaches, the possibility of playing in a variety of ensembles, and the exceptional setting of the Abbaye aux Dames all contribute towards making the professional studies programme with the JOA.
The Jeune Orchestre Atlantique offers two options:
- an "à la carte" choice of training courses, from 5 to 15 days duration including sectional work, chamber music repertoire, orchestral repertorie
- a complete cycle of courses, the advanced studies programme in orchestral training on classical and romantic repertoire (2 years) including 6 courses per year, acredit of 25 hours of individual lessons, a research work.
